Problem Over the Rainbow

In Meade, a small town in California there's been a drama over the rainbow flag at a family-run restaurant/Bed and Breakfast.

..recently their dream has turned into a nightmare, all because of a flag they're flying outside. “It's a rainbow flag - to some people it means friendship to some people it means gay pride," says Knight. But for Knight, it was just a souvenir from his 12-year-old son.

This flag is common in Amsterdam, and usually indicates gay pride. Today was the gay pride parade in Amsterdam with decorated boats cruising through the Prinsengracht accompanied by loud music from the icons of the gay world - Dolly Parton and Nana Mouskouri. Lining the canal was a supportive audience of all ages cheering and dancing - it's a family event. Although the floats can include the rainbow flag, Dolly Parton look alikes, or semi-naked dancing men.

Hope no-one from Meade was in town.
